Families play a hugely important role in supporting and celebrating LGBTIQ+ loved ones. But research has found that up to six in ten LGBTIQ+ people have experienced family violence due to rigid ideas about sex, gender and sexuality. The ‘Pride. Respect. Equity.’ campaign shared positive, first-hand stories of love and support. Highlighting that although support looks different for every family, the basics are clear when it comes to making sure LGBTIQ+ loved ones feel respected and safe.
